EV10E69A CryptoAuth TrustMANAGER Dev Board Features

Core Functionality

The EV10E69A CryptoAuth TrustMANAGER Development Board is an integral part of the CryptoAuthentication evaluation kit ecosystem. Specifically designed to work with the keySTREAM SaaS platform powered by Kudelski IoT, it incorporates the ECC608-TMNGTLS Trust Manager device. This pre-provisioned variant of the ECC608 comes equipped with a birth certificate and private key, essential for establishing a secure device identity. By leveraging the keySTREAM SaaS, the board facilitates in-field provisioning of IoT devices with custom PKI, symmetric keys, and data. This comprehensive approach ensures secure device management throughout the product lifecycle, from initial onboarding to ongoing ownership transfer.

Hardware Components

To support the Trust Manager, the EV10E69A board employs a Microchip SAM D21 microcontroller, based on the Arm Cortex-M0+ architecture, as its central processing unit. Pre-programmed with the SCG kit protocol, this MCU efficiently manages communication between the secure element and the host system via the USB HID interface. A dedicated status LED provides real-time visual feedback on data transfer between these components.

Connectivity and Extension Options

The board supports a dual-port USB hub, which manages data transmission between upstream and downstream devices, enhancing its connectivity capabilities. DIP switches provide convenient control over SDA lines, enabling seamless integration with both the onboard components and external mikroBUS modules. The board supports I2C, SPI, and UART interfaces, allowing easy integration with a range of sensors, actuators, and other peripherals.

The mikroBUS header, a standardized interface, empowers users to effortlessly connect a vast array of Click sensors and add-on boards to the Trust Platform. The platform supports SPI for cryptography devices like TA100 and TA101, as well as general-purpose SPI-based modules. I2C compatibility extends to a wide range of mikroBUS and Click boards, including other Microchip cryptography solutions, socket boards, and IoT sensors. Additionally, the board supports the proprietary SWI protocol for communication with ATECC608 and ATSHA204A devices, and SWI-PWM for interacting with Microchip authentication ICs such as SHA104, SHA105, SHA106, ECC204, ECC206, and TA01.

User Interface and Compliance

To enhance interactivity, the board features a user-defined switch and three programmable RGB LEDs, tailored for various applications and demonstrations. Moreover, the board is RoHS and REACH compliant, ensuring it meets the latest environmental and safety standards. This development board, identified by software as the CryptoAuth Trust Manager, stands out for its comprehensive feature set aimed at advancing secure IoT solutions.

Debugging and Development Tools

Engineers can leverage the onboard debugger for the inspection, easy debugging and reprogramming of the MCU. The board is fully compatible with Microchip's development platforms, including MPLAB X and Microchip Studio, providing a robust environment for software development.
