What we do

TDK was founded in 1935 to commercialize ferrite, a magnetic material invented at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. The company was built on the desire of its founder to create unprecedented value and be of use to the world. In 2025, TDK will mark 90 years since its establishment. Going forward, based on its Corporate Motto, “Contribute to culture and industry through creativity,” TDK will continue to accelerate the evolution of technology and the transformation of society, contributing to the realization of a sustainable future. TDK is a truly global company, with over 250 locations in more than 30 countries and regions around the world, with more than 100,000 team members, and more than 90% of sales from outside Japan.
