Overview

The Nordic Semiconductor nRF9151-DK Development Kit is a pre-certified single-board development kit designed for evaluating and developing applications using the nRF9151 System-in-Package for LTE-M, NB-IoT, GNSS, and DECT NR+.

The kit features dedicated antennae for cellular and GNSS connectivity, allowing global operation. The PCB includes an integrated patch antenna for GNSS and SWF RF connectors for external antennas. It’s compatible with Arduino Uno Rev3 shields and includes user-programmable LEDs and buttons. Its typical applications include asset tracking, smart metering, smart city, smart agriculture, predictive maintenance, portable medical devices, and Industry 4.0.

Arduino Uno Rev3-Compatible for Easy Integration and Rapid Development

The board is compatible with Arduino Uno Rev3 boards which makes it easier to deploy Arduino-based applications. It also interfaces seamlessly with external shields. Also, the board presents up to four programmable LEDs and four buttons for digital input and outputs.

To ensure cellular connectivity, the nRF9151DK provides a nano/4FF SIM card slot and an MFF2 SIM footprint integrated with the board PCB. Moreover, it’s compatible with software SIM and comes with Onomondo and Wireless Logic SIM cards with preloaded data. Moreover, the nRF9151DK provides an onboard SEGGER J-Link debugger to ensure seamless programming and debugging for external devices and targets.

Integrated Antennas and Connectors for Performance Measurement

The nRF9151DK offers a built-in integrated patch antenna that ensures GNSS application development. Moreover, it has SWF RF connectors to ensure seamless RF signal performance measurement. It also ensures that the board connects to external antennas via external antenna connectors. The connectors also allow the board to connect to external GPIO and other interfaces.

Thanks to a built-in antenna connection, the nRF9151DK allows for the development and evaluation of LTE and GNSS-based applications including asset tracking, smart metering, smart agriculture, Industry 4.0, smart homes, and cellular IoT-based applications.

Comprehensive Development Kit with Essential Software Tools and Resources

The Nordic nRF9151DK comes with a comprehensive kit of software tools and resources to help users get instantly started with cellular development projects. The resources include the Cellular IoT Fundamentals course by Nordic Developer Academy, allowing beginners seamless prototyping and evaluation.

Moreover, there is a pre-flashed Serial LTE Modem application allowing for AT command-based interfacing and debugging via the onboard SEGGER J-Link debugger. The firmware samples are present in the Quick Start tool available at the nRF Connect for Desktop.
