Redefining NDT Inspections in FPSOs

Inspecting FPSOs in harsh marine environments is no easy task, especially with high temperatures, confined spaces, and the need for precise corrosion monitoring. Recently, a major breakthrough in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) was achieved during the inspection of an FPSO tank, where both Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Visual Testing (VT) were conducted using SKYRON, an intelligent flying robot designed to perform NDT inspections faster, safer, and more cost-effectively.

This innovative approach allowed inspectors to gather crucial data while avoiding the dangers of traditional methods like rope access and scaffolding. From capturing HD images to delivering UT readings in temperatures up to 45°C, the inspection process was completed swiftly, safely, and more efficiently than ever.
